In alignment with the August lull, here are some tips for what to do in-between cycles to effectively recover from your previous cycle and prepare for your next one.
This down time is a great opportunity to do a mini liver cleanse to support the liver's function in effectively metabolizing hormones and to restore and fortify your health and stamina.
For 4 weeks, mix and mingle as many of the following strategies as you can:
1 - Start the day with a morning mocktail
Put a handful of all or some of the following veggies in a blender with enough water to cover them up: celery, beet greens, dandelion greens, parsley, cilantro, Swiss chard, kale and a piece of chopped ginger root.
This drink is rich in magnesium and fiber and very hydrating. It's also a good way to get a full-spectrum of green veggies in if you're not inclined to be eating a pile of veggies every day. Green is also the color that's associated with the Chinese Liver system. So, boosting up on these greens means a boost to this whole system.
2 - Liver Cleanse Supplement (1 capsule 3 times per day)
Liver Cleanse is a potent combination of nutrients that work synergistically to enhance the function of the liver and is specifically helpful for detoxification program. The ingredients in this formula enhance the production and flow of bile, which helps to optimize metabolism and the excretion of substances detoxified by the liver.
3 - Focus on eating 5 small, protein-based meals throughout the day combined with lots of vegetables and whole grains.

Alternate hot and cold water in the shower by doing 3-minutes hot and 30-seconds cold (it doesn't have to be extreme temperatures - just a contrast). End on cold. This can stimulate metabolism and enhance elimination support.
